Liberty High School Phase 1

Supporting Academic and Student Life Through a Purpose-Built High School

The first phase of Liberty High School established one of Iowa City’s most modern educational facilities, designed to serve 1,000 students in grades 9–12. The 263,000 SF building includes classrooms, science labs, art studios, collaboration areas, and specialized spaces for music, theater, and special education. Key amenities feature two gymnasiums, an 830-seat auditorium, a media center, and a multi-purpose commons. Built with geothermal HVAC, LED lighting, and a photovoltaic system, the facility supports energy efficiency while anticipating future expansion.
